Synopsis

Lulu, a young woman navigating a bleak, hyper-capitalist dystopia dominated by the monolithic Department of Violence, Pornography & Commerce (VPC), starts her day fielding an abusive video call from her boss, Viscount Johnson. He dangles a major opportunity while simultaneously berating her and questioning her ruthlessness. Pressured and running late, Lulu leaves her dilapidated home and encounters Max, a distraught woman whose cat, Mittens, has just been killed by a hit-and-run driver. Max confronts Lulu, who she sees disposing of the cat's body. The confrontation, seemingly goaded by Johnson's disembodied voice urging Lulu to be a "killer," escalates violently.
